Systems Software Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
• As a member of the Integrated Control System software group, you participate in the development processes of our partner's upcoming software.
• Your work will be coordinated by product owner(s) and will follow our way of working. The scrum tasks will be shared in a way to keep the knowledge shared with one or more staff members.
• Your role will play an important part in creating new functionality providing tools to automate operational sequences that are needed to ease the operation of our partner for the next commissioning periods.
Requirements
• Education in engineering or scientific area with mainly software professional experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in the following:
- Strong programming experience with Java and Python
- Graphical interface design familiarity
- Design of modular and scalable systems
- Database systems and data management
- Agile and scrum practices
- Knowledge of the EPICS/TANGO/SCADA control system
• We are looking for someone with a strong analytical and programming skills, able to identify needs and translate into a software solution.
• Good communication and collaboration skills. This role requires many interactions with team members and potentially other groups.
• Good oral and written English skills.
Advantages
• Experience with large research facilities or projects is highly desirable, particularly particle accelerators or light sources.
