Automation Engineer
Primary Responsibilities
• Understanding of the current controls system architecture
• Understanding and continue to use the workflow for code development
• Configure/tune motion control components
• Develop a control system on a TwinCAT PLC for the motion control components
• Develop a GUI for the control system
• Prepare specifications for PLC and GUI SW for replication of the system
• Prepare requirements for electrical drawings of the control system
• Prepare complete documentation following ESS standards for the control system developed
• Interaction with commercial partners to ensure timely delivery of specified systems
• Definition and implementation of verification plans to ensure correct quality of commercial deliveries
• Review HW & SW design to ensure compliance with ESS procedures and rules.
• Review inspection and test plans provided by commercial partners and take part in test and commissioning activities
• Maintenance, support and improvements of components.
• Ensure that all work executed in accordance with ESS quality assurance, ICS integration strategy and ESH policies
• Actively participate in work with deliverable and process quality
• Definition and implementation of verification plans to ensure correct quality of commercial deliveries.
• The nature of the work implies ability for travelling, typically 3 - 5 days / 12 months away from Lund mainly within Europe.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, technology or science
• 5+ years in developing, integrating and commissioning industrial automation system
• 5+ years of PLC development with Beckhoff TwinCAT3, TwinCAT Motion, TwinSAFE
• Experience with controlling, monitoring and integrating motion control components. Motor drives, servos, motors, sensors, resolvers, etc.
• Experience in verification and validation of industrial automation systems
• Experience with PLC programming standards (IEC-61131-3)
• Experience working with GIT repositories · Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent oral and written English skills are mandatory
